Hello to community.
I’m a qu16 owner but due to my bands IEM’s needs i would probably upgrade to SQ series as a need more stereo mixes.
I saw to the specs that SQ has up to 12 stereo mixes. That probably means that i need 24 physical outputs to run these mixes.
The mixer has only 12 XLR physical outputs in the back (10 + 2 LR) so i can run maximum only 6 stereo mixes right?
Is there a solution to run actually 12 stereo mixes?
The IEM system is hardwired (controlled by Qu-you) and not ME-500 or ME-1.
Thanks!
Go with ME’s or spend even more 1000’s on a big console. The need for lots of stereo mixes gets expensive either way.
Thanks GCumbee but if i decide to go with ME’s then probably stay with my Qu16.
Another concern is that with stereo mixes i have compressor/eq etc per stereo mix but with ME’s i will have only individual channels.
Thanks
ME system can mix to stereo IEM as well
ME-1 40 sources to stereo each, sources can be channel direct outs or mixes (mono and stereo)
ME-500 16 sources but they can be stereo…
btw SQ5 has 16 outputs built in, SQ6 has 18
12/14 XLR, 2 jack, 1 AES3 Stereo…
as written on the website there are expansions available…
You would add DX168’s to your system to get more outputs. You get 8 outputs per DX168 (and 16 inputs).
