SQ - GX - DX Power Sequence

Putting together a system that uses an SQ5 connected to a GX4816, with a DX168 connected to the GX4816.
No sources or destinations will be connected to the SQ5; just the Ethercon cable.

My questions are about proper power sequence.
Should the DX power up before the GX?
Should the GX power up before the SQ?
Does it matter?

Can I get away with powering up a dozen wireless mic receivers, and a handful of power ams plugged into the DX at the same time as the DX?
I have read something about the DX168 being protected from pops with relays until it establishes connectivity with the SQ.

Thanks in advance.

my experience with the AB168 is that it doesn’t matter. but… if you change shows or whatever, you can’t change the phantom until the AB’s are connected to the SQ. i.e. it is not possible to set the phantom on the SQ without connectivity…

As long as you turn your speakers (or amps if using passive speakers) on last, it really doesn’t matter IMHO.

This is because the drivers in the speaker are really the only component of the overall system that can be damaged from the act of turning on/off equipment in the wrong order.

Found that the GX4816 documentation states:
“Switch on the mixer first, then the GX Expander.”

Nothing on the DX168 documentation.

Yeah with the SQ, since it is the “brain” I would have always put that on first, followed by the “peripherals”.

I know with something like the dLive, it is best to do MixRack, then surface though. But as Brian, said, as long as the amps are on last and off first, it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
