Church volunteer operators need a one-tap “Lock Screen” Button in SQ MixPad to prevent accidental touches on iPad during live services. Multiple users with varying skill levels occasionally inadvertently hit a button on the iPad with bad results. I suggest that this button be placed at the top center of the display where it would be unlikely to be accidentally touched. When it is activated, a rather large box with the words “Screen Locked” could be superimposed on top of everything in the middle of the screen. To unlock the screen, you simply touch the button again and the “Screen Locked” box goes away and the screen is unlocked. That’s my two cents for today. Thanks for your consideration.
Maybe a Cover for the iPad would be an easy fix?
Or locking the iPad itself?
I don’t mean it disrespectful … unvoluntary taps could really be a problem also for other apps.
Thanks Simon. The iPad has a cover but the cover cannot be closed, nor can the iPad be locked, when actively mixing during a service. Doing either of these would break the connection between the SQ-7 Board and the iPad, rendering the iPad useless until things got synced back up. I am asking Allen & Heath for a new feature in the SQ MixPad App and not for some other work-around.
That’s fair … I only suggested a workaround for your problem, because i am not really optimistic about A&H realizing your feature suggestion (anytime soon or at all).
Since i’m following this forum (and product) A&H doesn’t strike me as very agile regarding new features (although i want to give credit for the new FW version)…
