SQ+ PEQ setup exactly values impossible

On the PEQ page it is not (always) possible to set parameters exactly. For example you want to set 250 hz, but can only reach 249 or 251 hz, also for the gain example 3.0 db and you reach 2.9 or 3.1 db. Is it possible to get this fixed?

Why do you want exact numbers? 99.9% of the time ears are better than eyes.

I get the OCDness of having nice round #s, but they aren’t only cutting one single frequency anyway.

Agreed, but sometimes it’s a matter of wanting reproducible configuration. I was running a show on a Qu-32 in May where I took extensive notes on the settings I had and had another tech wipe some channel settings out, so I went to dial them back in again – and found I couldn’t get the exact same values. That seemed baffling. Using the dedicated EQ rotary controls and the touchscreen rotary seems to make adjustments by slightly different increments and it was distracting enough to be a nuisance.

I’m somewhat surprised there isn’t a “hold this button to fine tune” option for those looking to exactly recreate settings, but I couldn’t say what exactly I’d repurpose for that use case. Maybe Library? Does holding it have any other meaning?

I’ve never seen sound but I hear it all the time

Have you never watched the cone of a loudspeaker?

I have seen many loudspeakers vibrate but never have I seen the sound they produce…

Fun fact: this loudspeaker movement looks almost identical in a vacuum yet produces no sound

Have a great weekend!

This is common among all A&H products and settings. For example, you can’t generally set an exact fader level (like unity level) either using the encoder or fader.

I agree that visually it is annoying, but in reality it doesn’t make any difference.

You can use Mixing station where you can type the exact value or increase the resolution of the control knob.
