It would be an advantage if we had an overview of which channels are muted in the SQ Rack, as I can only see 8 channels per layer on the screen, which quickly becomes confusing. Select Channel Strip Pop Up Window would be ideal for this.
The MUTE groups are part of the routing screen. There should be an overview available.
And the metering screen should show muted channels as well. I think.
At least it does provide an overview in the MixPad App.
I fully agree with you. My question relates to the fact that I use my SQ Rack without the SQ App or Mixing Station App. As a stand alone unit
You still have the routing screen.
Both of your questions regard to functions that are realized with hardware buttons on the fader equipped models. No faders, no hardware buttons. But I believe you know that already.
But the whole system is manageable without the faders and strip controls. The different screens offer dedicated views for a part of the user interface.
In this case, I understand your wish very well, because an overview of muted channels can be quite vital.
And it would certainly be possible with the popup you mentioned, but you would only see the selected layer at a time and would have to switch between layers if necessary.
But as an SQ Rack user, you apparently even have a bonus: the dedicated "SQ-Contro"l screen.
Here, you could apparently create up to five custom layouts and in one up to 48 mute buttons - all at once visible and available for use (like the three outlined in the pic).
(You could probably also create the assign buttons you’re missing in your other topic, e.g., for Main LR.)
At the moment, I don’t understand why this screen isn’t also available for the SQ-5/6/7.
Sorry if I’m wrong - I don’t have a SQ-Rack to test, just the published documentation.
I was about to post something similar, but without the ability to test it on the real unit, I decided not doing so.
My understanding of the SQ-Control is limited, but I assume that the app is the missing link for the SQ-Rack users to have simple tasks available on the screen that would require hardware control on the other models.
Maybe the missing button is the reason.
I dont mean the app - i mean the SQ-Control Screen.
There are 8 or 16 Soft Keys.
Does the SQ-R has the possibility to configure these screens? Or does this happen in the app?
Exactly, SQ-Control is our goal on the unit. Thank you for your input.I hope that the commands here will be expanded with future software updates.
I’m glad about that, of course.
Nevertheless, I think that’s not why it was integrated.
Because, considering the possibilities and the concept (see my pic above), it seems more likely intended to provide a dedicated way of operation for non-professionals, such as a caretaker who should only be able to monitor the volume of background music and announcements.
And that’s why I’m quite surprised that it isn’t also available on the other SQs, which, for example, in churches, seem to be predominantly operated by non-professionals.
But it’s great of course if you can set it up like in your case.
I’d be interested to see how the view behaves if, for example, you create a stereo pair from your inputs 1 and 2 and then rename it to ST0, and what happens if you convert your ST1 into two mono channels.
I would welcome that, too, because it’s a small step towards a kind of custom GUI.
@SQuser nothing. SQ-Control is indepentend. You have to customize the interface. I also want to check whether SQ-Control can be saved with a show.
@steffenromeiss you can configure it directly on the SQ-Rack or via the app.
Thank you for your informations.
Oh, that’s a little disappointing!
Not even changed channel names are applied?
The reference guide describes that the layout will be saved in a scene.
There are also corresponding Global (Recall) Filters for this at the SQ-R.
@SQuser SQ-Control works fine with scene save
