SQ to Qu pre-amp levels

I am connecting an SQ-5 to a QU-SB via I/O port (inputs to the SQ coming in via Slink / AR2412). I’m finding that the gain meters on the QU are noticeably lower than what is reading on the QU (both using direct outs and tie lines). Is this normal? I was expecting the “gain” levels on the QU to be the same as what I see on the SQ. It’s not really usable the way it is now. I hope I’m doing something wrong. I even tried connecting the Slink to the Qu Dsnake directly but the same results. Any suggestions?

iirc it’s possible to select meter type on both qu and sq.

if sq is set to peak and qu is rms that would make happen

We have had a similar question before, and the meter setup was the answer.
