Stereo FX Sends

Some questions on Buses. Background: I’m coming from Yamaha where dedicated FX sends don’t exist and everything else I ask about is possible.

  1. Are FX Sends Stereo? If so, do they always follow channel pan?
  2. If FX Sends are not stereo, can you route a Stereo Aux to an FX unit to achieve this?
  3. Can you link/unlink pan/width on a channel send to a Stereo Aux to the pan/width on the channel? (Per channel, Per Send, Console level?)

If there is documentation on this, feel free to point me there but I’ve not found it as of yet.

  1. FX Sends are mono
  2. I’m not sure as I’ve never tried, but I would guess a stereo Aux as the source for an FX will get summed pre FX in…
  3. Pan to Main LR and Pan to Auxes are not linked and are always independent, though there have been feature requests for this with an invert option for stereo IEMs
