On my GLD80 when I input a digital piano I use two inputs for left and right. The left I pan hard left and right hard right. I then link the channels so that moving one fader also moves the other and any EQ, gain is applied to both.
There’s a stereo link option on the CQ but I can’t work out how it handles the panning. Does it automatically pan left channel to left and right to right? I can only see a single pan control once linked.
Can anyone help?
Stereo linked channels are by default hard panned L/R.
There is a extra PAN control for a stereo channel but it just control “more Left or more right” shall I say.
It is available either in the fader TAB or in the processing TAB for the channel under “SENDS” right TAB.
There is no stereo spacing control for linked stereo channels.
Spacing control can be done only if the 2 channels are not linked, then you can play with the PAN independently.
Can you link a keyboard LR input and still have the left and right inputs both be mono in the mixer. (E.g., Left input to send to bother Left and Right Main Output)
Yes, each keyboard OUT to a channel of the CQ.
The only thing to do is NOT stereo link them into the CQ.
They are independent. You just have 2 faders.
You can of course PAN them hard Left and Right and apply same processing, but you can also be creative.
Thanks @willmodelisme
Sounds like the stereo link will do just what I need for the keyboard and electric drums – single fader with auto pan hard left and right!
