Hi all
Hope for some help/guide here My friend have a qu32 he wants to have his sub on a seperate fader and output but he wants it to follow the master fader kind of like a DCA is that possible?
so the signal to the sub follows the balance when turning up Main
You - or rather, your friend - can, as you already mentioned yourself, actually set up a DCA for this purpose and then, in addition to the lower layer, also place it in the custom layer.
This QU isn’t the only console where there’s no other way to do this.
The simplest and most common practice for this is to run two matrices. A stereo or mono matrix for the mid/highs and a mono matrix for the subs. Have both matrices fed from the FOH fader.
This way, both your mains and subs follow the L/R fader and contain the L/R content but are independently controlled.
This is the way to do it.
I’m thinking they want to do aux fed subs, that would not work using the matrix The aux master for the sub and main LR master would need to be assigned to a DCA to use as a common level control.
If you read his OP he wants it to follow the master fader.
Understanding use would help, live preformance, dj, worship ?
