"Sub" Scenes

I like the Scenes feature which allow me save a snapshot of the entire board. I would like to use this for individual songs (muting mics I know will not be used) but this is just a tiny subset of the multitudes of settings that get saved. A live mix is always going to be dynamic to some degree so it would be almost impossible to have 20 identical Scenes that only differ by various channels being muted. First song in, you tweak the reverb a bit. Load the scene for the second song, boom. Reverb right back where it was.

If I could specify what a scene changed (default could be “everything”) then I could continue to evolve the live mix from scene to scene and only change the parameters that needed to be changed.

For this example I can just go in and mute/unmute them manually per song. It’s not the end of the world. But if I could just setup a soft key or footswitch to advance to the next song with the proper muting applied and the dynamic mix intact, that would be very useful. I might try things a bit more bespoke for each song.

On all higher series of A&H mixers, there are “Scene Safes” where you can lock parameters you do not want changed on scene recall. I too am hoping this facility will be introduced on the CQ range at some future firmware update. (I also use Qu, SQ and Avantis, all of which have this feature, which I do occasionally miss when using scenes)
