Two SD drives in a row corrupted recordings

We have used both of these drives for quite some time with no issues, as a matter of fact two days ago one of these drives was used on a multitrack pretty much same length of the one we tried to cut yesterday, no problems.

I use two SD drives interchangeable and format fresh before using, no problem until now.

The first drive after several takes got corrupted and it would jump up, say we did a 5min song on multitrack playback thru the mixer itself it would skip in the beginning and skip in the end taking about a minute out of the track on both sides.

Took that out, formatted second drive, it was reading ok at practice when playing via the mixer there, now at home when I popped it up on the PC I am getting everything mangled, missing files as well. Very odd…

Any ideas?

The last take was a really good drum take that we were hoping to track the rest of the band over the week as the rest of us record at home.

Have you tried another usb cable?

What do I need USB cable for? It’s the pop in SD card.

Tried the "AH suggested repair via Windows drive “check for errors and repair”…didn’t fix the issue, lost the files by the looks of it. Now I am afraid to record on this again. I have another SD card that I can try.

The SQ doesn’t have an SD card reader/writer slot though.

Oooops, I have a CQ-18T.

@moderators can you possibly move?

I moved it to the correct channel now.

Thank you, sorry got confused on the mixer models, had to look mine up :slight_smile:

OK, tried yet 3rd SD card, Sandisk (black). So far the first two that glitched are Samsung 128 Pro Plus (180 read and 130 write) and PNY Elite 100 mb/s read/write). This one worked fine, on spec has supposedly 200 mb/s read/write. The Samsung so far has recorded up to 9 channels before no issues. Pny as well…
