Tying two outputs to a "stereo" TRS

Greetings –

I need to connect two of my iDR-32 outputs into a single 1/4" TRS for driving a stereo mix into personal monitor mixer.

Can I wire it up like this?

Output 4 - Pin 2 to 1/4" tip

Output 5 - Pin 2 to 1/4" ring

Output 5 - Pin 1 to 1/4" sleeve (or should I take pin 3?)

This isn’t so much a question about the proper way to wire up the adapter, as it is a question about potentially damaging my MixRack.

Thank you!

Just make sure you tie pin’s 1 & 3 together on the xlr connector. You will not damage the mixrack.

Why not get a couple of simple 1:0 to 1:0 transformers so the output driver of the mix rack see’s a nice simple load, then you could use the outputs of the transformers to feed the TRS input of your monitor device. Keeps it isolated also which is a bonus less chance of hums and buzzes also.

You should be able to buy off-the-rack cables to do exactly this…

@tim- yes just tie pins 1 & 3 together to make an unbalanced connection.
