USB 3.0 low latency I/O card (for live plugin hosting and recording)

Hey guys!

Not sure if this has been asked for previously, but a card akin to the SQ drive would be cool - maybe with the addition of an optimized low latency mode for live plugin send/returns. Currently the only options are waves (boo, waves) and dante using something like an RME or yamaha ruio16 to bridge between dante/USB, but with extra points of failure.

Wouldn’t be a terribly difficult thing to achieve, and pretty sure for avantis/dlive users, would be fairly desirable for quick recording/VSC and live plug-in use

Thanks for reading

You can get a “Pro” version of Dante Virtual Sound Card now that’ll do 128x128 @ 96 kHz. It’s subscription-based, though, not a one-time purchase.

Come to think of it, if 48 kHz will work for you, the regular version of DVS (which is a one-time purchase for… $50?) will do 64x64, which would be enough to cover all the Avantis’s inputs.

Thats what I currently use - but to get DVS latency useable, you need some kind of bridge. With a USB card, you could likely get I/O roundtrip to about 2ms, rather than 6-7ms with DVS.
