Can I use PEQ/ Compression in an aux / without effecting/ compressing the main channel? We send audio to an overflow room during our church services. We have been having a heck of time mixing that room having only one engineer who sits at the main console. Is it possible to set limits for channels in an Aux without putting compression on the main channel strips?
You can’t do it for each channel individually without affecting the main mix, but yes, you can put a compressor/EQ on the AUX bus. Alternatively, you could use a Matrix. Although the Aux will probably work better so you can adjust the mix according to the need of the overflow. We used to do the same thing for ours. The Aux worked good because you could compensate for the lack of live sound in the room to correct the overflow mix.
Thanks John
I will try that.
