V 1.80 ?

does anyone really know exactly what’s coming in the 1.80?

you only hear rumours everywhere, I find that a bit unprofessional.

same here…

they will have MCA-Groups, work like DCA but moving the faders og the assigned channels
then there will be another Optic-Compressor for the input channels an switchable input socet groups A B D E for each input Chanel

Well, I’ve heard those things too, but I can’t imagine that that’s all.
No bugfixes? No further improvements?
Why is there no official information?
You could do that better, please don’t let us users stand in the rain.

No Group Spills?

No New EQ’s? Yet Another Compressor? Sounds disappointing so far.

Here’s a YouTube video from NAMM showing a preview of v1.8

Now its gone- what is this secret bullshit. We who have no possibility to go to NAMM or ISE been let down. This isnt A&H as i know them

Probably just means the update is not coming as soon as we would all like.

Agreed. Would like more info about V1.8.

If you haven’t done so already, there is still time to register for today’s webinar on V1.8. See you online.

Thank you for a great update!

We are using three new features:

  • MCAs to allow DCAs to affect monitors
  • Talkback groups
  • ABCD input switching

All of these are very helpful. Thanks!

From my side also many thanks for the update.
there are again many useful things.
TJCornish has mentioned a few important things.

I am especially happy that my personal wish was fulfilled with the Peak Hold Reset on Softbutton. That really makes me happy, because I will use this solution extensively.

The Latching-With option on the C-Series consoles will prevent the extreme finger splits in the future

Also the DCA buttons in the bank view are good, the button has been there for a long time, but without any function.

The list also says that gigaACE is now VLAN compatible. Wasn’t it before? It’s a Layer2 solution, that should have worked already?

And I’m happy that the DCA and softkey setup windows with the blue dots make it easier to see in which tabs functions are set. I hadn’t thought about this solution at all, thank you very much for that, that will further improve the overview!

And then the display of the dB values in the routing screen! Wonderful!

It goes ahead!
Now only a few little things are missing…

Supplement:
I noticed something in the Director:
whenever I restart the Director, the mix field at the top right is displayed with a red border. This display should only be active if the MIX button was pressed in a DCA (spill).

Correction:
i was wrong, the red border really only appears when i use the mix button in a DCA group.
Sorry for the wrong message, it was a bit late yesterday…

How’s everyone getting along with v1.8. I haven’t seen any posts about glitches. So far so good?

no problems so far…

no problems so far…

Found one!

IP8 has issues connecting when set to DHCP. I’ve already contacted support and they’re working on it. Sounds like a device discovery thing. Basically, IP8 will connect as long as it’s powered on and connected to console at boot only. If you connect IP8 at any other time, IE after console has booted, console will recognize that an IP8 exists (surface/controllers, it shows up,) but it will not connect. Removing/adding the controller doesn’t remedy connection either.

Switching IP8 to static IP seems to be the best workaround for now. Static mode connects just fine every time.

I recognised there is now a limited LowCut Filter up to 200Hz at the FX-Return-Inputs! Not able to expand this like you can at the normal input channels! If I load an older Showfile where the LowCut was set higher than 200Hz it still shows you this way in the window… but as soon as you touch the Filter value it jumps down to 200Hz maximum! I don’t like to be limited by 200Hz… or is there a reason why it has changed since last FW?
