Qu-Pad and Qu-You password protection
The Qu-Pad app now requires entry of the Admin
password on login. The Qu-You personal mixing app
can now be protected by setting the new ‘Qu-You’ user
password at the mixer.
The screenshot of the spectrograph is of a stereo split - if we are PAFL on a Mono source do we just get one?
Important note for Qu-You for Android users – V1.80 Qu-You for Android is not yet available. Do not update your mixer if you rely on Qu-You for Android for personal monitoring. We will make V1.80 of Qu-You for Android available as soon as possible – please check back for updates.
Anyone else having trouble updating to the new firmware?
I’m using the usual USB stick. First I’m “erasing” the disk with my Mac then moving the firmware download to the USB.
When I plug in the USB to the Qu16 it shows that the v1.8 update is recognised but the button to “update” is greyed out, even after a minute of two of waiting.
Just had a quick look at the QU-PAD app and really like the new features that have been added! Shame that the Spectrograph is not included in the app update as this would be the most useful place to put it for me as I’m using a QU-PAC. Still, I’m very grateful for the features that have been added and love the QU series!
A&H keeps giving and I love that,
while I don’t ever need to see a graph to know what a frequency is, the spectrogram will be tremendous for users who understand EQ but can’t “do it”
Wonderful additions Allen & Heath,
I just love my Qu24 and AR2412
Now I am goiong to check out the iPad app,
I guess there is still probably no color coding which is beyond me

Some nice new additions with V1.8 such as the freq spectrogram and AMM, looks exciting.
But I’m very surprised/alarmed that the Qu-Pad will now require the Admin password. I can understand needing a password, but not the Admin password.
In my church I have 7 other sound operators, 6 of whom just have the Standard password and I do not want them to have access to Admin settings. But I do want them to be able to use the iPad as an extension of the desk controls (esp setting up monitor levels on stage). So why do you now need an Admin level password to be able to use the Qu-Pad?
Or am i mis-understanding this?

Now you have me thinking Bob. I will check this later today to see if I log in as Standard can i use Qu-Pad (I mainly log in as Admin when I’m on sound). But if this is the case (i.e. that you always had to log on as Admin to use Qu-Pad) why are they only saying with this 1.8 release that “The Qu-Pad app now requires entry of the Admin password on log” ?
Yes that is correct, the Standard users need to initially use the wifi router password to log onto the iPad. But why now do they have to use the desk Admin password just to operate the iPad, doesn’t make sense? The Standard user should be able to log into Qu-pad with the Standard password, not the Admin one !!
If this is the case then we’ll be staying with V1.7, as I’m not giving everyone access to the Admin passowrd just so they can use the iPad, yet that’s what I would inevitably be pressurised to do as they would all like to use the iPad, and rightly so…
