Not sure if it’s a price point reason. But I just got a TASCAM DA-6400 with the Dante card. I’m excited to use it for virtual sound check and fine tuning post show! I was just curious if there is a remote possibility of having some sort of really easy a/b input selection for each channel so I can easily flip all the inputs to a Dante routing and then back to SLink patches for show time? ideally I would like to avoid using scene presets cause patches change from time to time and recalling old presets might make things less ideal. Thoughts or ideas?….
Have you tried patch libraries ? When on I/O screen, button “Library” next to the screen gives access to patch libraries.
You can use factory presets, or record your own User patches.
Once you’ve recorded your live patch and your Virtual patch, you just have to go to that screen, and select your patch to change it all in one click.
Yep, that’s exactly what we do (but for training). Load one of our existing scenes and then load an input patch library to ‘flip’ all of the inputs to a multi-track recording of the instruments/vocals on a loop so the trainee can ‘play’ with the controls to learn how the configuration and controls work.
You can also do it in the scenes. Make a swap scene, but you must disable everything but the routing when making the scene. Works great. Any scene you have running won’t be changed, except for the routing.
