ACTIONS - panning/fader boost

I have a killer macro on S6L that I would love to implement on my D-Live. I use the macro to control a stereo guitar channel. The one button press does the following.

  1. Pans the stereo guitar channels to centre
  2. Lifts the faders 3db relative to their current position

Then a secondary button press does the reverse.

  1. Pans the stereo guitar channels to hard left and right
  2. Drops the fader 3db relative to their current position

In effect I am using one button press for solos and a secondary button press to resume rhythm again.

Volume changes can only be set to a absolute value, it seems. Adding relative values here would help in a lot of respects.
And adding pan to actions would be necessary as well.

Altough all this can be done recalling a scene (when bringing a DCA into account), the Actions route seems much more streamlined to me.

so a +1 for relative send level changes and bringing pan into the Actions list from my side.

+1

I tried to use Action toggle specifically for solo purposes to increase and pan a solo instrument while simultaneously decreasing and panning other instruments, but sadly it was not possible.

I only use D-Live and S6L and the macro on the S6L is killer. Makes such a streamlined workflow for rhythm to solo and back again with one simple button press. The relative level is critical for this action and a really sophisticated workflow. Makes mixing the rock band I tour with so easy.

You could use actions to toggle a “Guitar Action” DCA between 0 and +3dB. Obviously since it burns a DCA that’s not as nice as being able to just do relative level adjustments, but as long as you have enough DCAs for it I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

Although I could do the boost part on a DCA it is essential to add the pan feature.
