Currently, the CQ-18T only allows selecting Post EQ or Post Comp as the Output Source Point.
There is no option to send a clean signal (Pre-EQ or Pre-Fader) to the outputs.
I personally tested this on Channel 1 (vocal input):
After applying EQ and compression, I routed it to one of the six Mix channels — and the processed signal was passed through exactly as-is.
This confirms that there’s no way to separate FOH processing from monitor sends, which is a serious limitation in live use.
Feature Request: Please consider adding a Pre-EQ / Pre-Fader tap point option per output or mix send in a future firmware update.
I’d like to add my support for this request. I run solo/duo acoustic gigs where I also play backing tracks (BGM/karaoke) through the mixer, and being able to choose a Pre-EQ or Pre-Fader tap point per output would make a real difference for me.
Specifically:
I want to send a processed (Post-EQ/Comp) signal to the Main mix for the audience, while sending a clean, unprocessed signal to a separate output for recording or an in-ear/monitor feed.
Currently, with only Post EQ / Post Comp available as the Output Source Point, I can’t separate FOH processing from other sends — any EQ or compression I dial in for the room gets baked into every destination.
This seems like a fairly standard workflow on other A&H consoles (Qu series allows selecting the Direct Out tap point from several stages: Post Preamp, Post HPF, Post Gate, Post Insert Return, Post PEQ, Post Compressor, Post Delay), so it would be great to see similar flexibility brought to CQ in a future firmware update.
Even a single global Pre-Fader/Pre-EQ option per output/mix send (similar to what’s already possible for Mix sends) would solve this.
Thanks for considering this — the CQ-18T is otherwise a fantastic little desk for this use case.
Also your CQ has 7 recording points, which is very useful for post-processing.
However, why people keep wanting monitor mixes of completely unfiltered microphones and instruments, which are likely unusable in most cases, will always remain a mystery to me. )
That’s not entirely correct: If you use Post EQ, that’s Pre Comp, and your compressor only affects your Main LR.
