My system consist of an SQ6, 2 DX168 and an AHM16 used for speaker processing. Is there a way to run the AHM through SLINK to free up physical connections on the stage boxes. Also is there a way to tie the AESEBU lines through SLINK.
Yes, you will need an additional S-Link card for the SQ6 and a S-Link card for the AHM16.
Connect the SQ6 to the AHM16 with one of the S-Link connections and then use the other S-Link on the SQ6 to connect to the first DX168 and then cascade the second DX168 off of the first. The only AES audio available is an output from the SQ6… you would need additional equipment like a DX012 for AES output or the DX32 system with AES input/output cards if using the S-Link connection.
The other option if to get two Dante cards and connect the AHM16 to the SQ6 via Dante, this would allow you to transport AES67 over the Dante network. You would still need to connect to the DX168 via S-Link
