AES configuration on Avantis

Hi there,

First of all so many Thanks to the community who help me before.

Here I’m the FOH ingénior for a festival on 2 weeks and I have my avantis solo ultra with Dante card.

I know I have to welcome other sound guy with her console and I want to ask you for the AES.

Can you tel me if I want to give her the AES, I put this input on my console and I want to know how I have to patch this? And if I have to do something for the clock and if I put the fader to nominal date at 0db and my master bus too, is it working well like this?

So many thanks for the help

Adrien

The integrated AES3 port is a pair of input or output sockets.

Take a look at the getting started guide.

https://support.allen-heath.com/hc/en-gb/articles/40469887089809-Avantis-Solo-Getting-Started-Guide#section-5

The sockets are labeled with I/O numbers. On the Avantis Solo these sockets are 13/14.

You can set the level to 0dB and turn off the EQ for the guest channel input.
If you set the manual peak compressor to infinite ratio you have an input limiter for additional security on the guest input side.

Ok so many thanks for that

And for the clock, is the console doing automatically the conversion to for example 44.1 or 48 to 96khz or I have to do something on the console?

Thanks

There is a setting for the sample rate conversion. You can set it to bypass, but it should be activated by default.

I/O screen > local inputs > click/tap on the socket number

Setup > Audio > Audio Sync

So many thanks,

I will patch input 13/14 in local input and give the femal xlr to the welcome console.

I take my Chanel strip and take the AES Chanel, i/o and set this Chanel to local 13/14 and I have juste to push up the fader to have the sound to my master bus who’s set in 15/16 into my GX4816 is that right?

And for analog LR I take a stereo Chanel and patch them to local 1/2 for example and set up the fader for the same thing.

Is that correct like that?
