AES input clocking?

I’m considering using a Dante AES3 interface but I’m not sure how the clocking would work at the GLD input.

Can I just send it a 48K AES signal clocked from the Dante network, and have the GLD accept / re-clock that to the GLD’s own internal clock?

Hah, just realised it doesn’t have an AES input. That’s what happens when everything is shut down for a year.

Just an FYI - Dante and AES3 are not the same protocol and are not interchangeable. Dante is an IP protocol and AES3 is transmitted over various analog cables, but most often a single XLR cable.

If you were talking about using something like the Audinate Dante to AES3 converter, it would handle the necessary clocking internally.

Yes, understood. Was looking at the Avio AES3 or the Glensound equivalent.

The outputs on these do seem to be clocked to the Dante network, reclocking seems to always be done at the AES input of the receiving device.
