AHM w/ IP-1 help

Trying to use an IP-1 as a source selector and volume control for the selected source but my volume control does not seem to follow my source selection and only stays with one input.

Hi Mac,

When controlling a Source Selector, the IP1 will control the level of the corresponding Zone output, not the level of the individual sources. The display will indicate which source is selected, and the Shift function will allow selection of the source, but the level bar, meter and main rotary function will control the Zone level.

Nicola,

If this is the case, what is the point of the source selection option on the shift function if I can’t then change the individual send level of the source I’ve selected on the Main function???

I see how this could be used I suppose if you were just sending one source at a time to a zone.

I was hoping to use an IP-1 as a simple way to mix a monitor send feed at an elementary school for (4) microphones and keep it as user-friendly as possible with one control.

You can choose source levels for each source in the Source Selector of the Zone, but the IP1 wouldn’t control them individually. The Source Select shift function is purely to activate one source at a time.

A workaround to achieve what you want is to program 4 Presets that only change the IP1 settings. In each preset, configure the IP1 to control the crosspoint you need (Mic1 to Zone1, Mic2 to Zone1 etc), and the Shift function to select Preset.

This is a common feature request that we might add in a later release, but I cannot commit to a release version or ETA.
