I’ve searched through the entire Allen & Heath website for the SQ, ME1, DX168 product page for some information on how to hook up the ME1 to the DX168 that is hooked up to the SQ mixer.
With the DX168 running 96 kHz and its DX A port hooked up to SQ console’s S-link, can I connect the ME1 to the DX B port on DX168?
If not, would setting DX168 to 48 kHz allow ME1 to run off DX 168’s DX B port?
Much help appreciated!
EDIT: The expansion slot would have a Waves expansion card, needed for Sound Grid processing. So the SLink expansion method is not the preferred solution.
I see 2 years ago this wasn’t possible? Jan 2022. Today I read you can run an ME system on a DX168 / IQ5 system but one aux has to be in 48K (when everything else is 96K). I can’t find how to have one of my auxes run at 48K. Anyone know? Thanks Jim

I don’t know where you read this, but it is simply not true.
To run an ME system on an SQ, you either need to 1) plug the ME unit into the OEM Slink port or installed SLink I/O card, 2) plug a stagebox that supports ME (the GX4816 or the AR2412) into an SLink port and then use the ME port on the stagebox or 3) use a ME-U with a I/O card that matches the I/O card setup in your SQ. So if you run Dante on the SQ, you could use a Dante I/O card in the ME-U to connect the ME system over Dante. As far as I know, those are really the only options.
Thanks for your comments. (8 month old “thank you”). I am back on it again with a Dante card in the ME POE hub. Assume there is only one version of the Dante card for the hub and it works with any SQ console…and others? Jim Las Vegas.
Just to clarify, the Dante card that works with the ME-U (the A&H M-Dante card) does not fit any of the SQ consoles. It fits the older iLive and GLD consoles. That is probably NOT what you are asking, but I just wanted to make sure everyone is on the same page going forward…
Now to answer the question that I think you are asking… Dante is Dante. If you have a Dante card installed in the ME-U, you can patch it to any other Dante devices on your network. If you have a Dante card installed in the SQ as well, then yes you will be able to patch the desired audio out of the SQ’s Dante card and into the ME-U’s Dante card. Those audio channels will be available in the ME system at that point. You’ll just have to route the audio properly in both the device’s routing page and in Dante Controller.
