Allow Empty/Blank Channel Name on New Qu

On SQ boards, I can set a channel color to black to make it immediately obvious on the scribble strip that a channel isn’t being used at the moment.

Since the new Qu boards don’t have a different color to set, I tried leaving the channel name blank, but it simply reverts to the previous setting.

In the meantime, naming a channel “.” helps.

A way to either set a channel name to nothing or blank out the scribble strip would be useful to me.

If you don’t assign a channel to the fader, the strip stays blank. Is this what you want?

Not particularly, no. I’d like to leave the strip on the layer and just blank it out if it’s not being used.

Think multiple bands going on right after another using the same backline, but maybe one band doesn’t have an acoustic guitar. Or they have a different number of vocal channels needed.

Just a quick visual “don’t worry about that one” rather than changing the layout between acts.

Does typing in a space not work to leave its name blank?
Works on the SQ and dLive to do that.

Just deleting everything and Applying, generally does revert it to the default name, hence why the space should work.

I created in the User Library a channel setting “00_reset” with basic values and a “-” (single dash) in the name. This way I can quickly reset a channel while not loosing the routing. The single dash in the scribble strip indicates, that the channel is routed but not in use.
