I’d like to be able to save the surface layout of director or the same model mixing surface to a show file so when I load a show, It’s possible to have the layout come with it for a computer or surface that the show was not created on.
Layouts are stored in scenes.
This already happens. When you load a showfile you automatically recall a surface scene and a mixing scene.
On a PC it doesn not. When you recall a “Show” the surface is not loaded. That is stored on the PC and it drives me nuts. I can manually move the data that Director saves on the PC by move and renaming folders but it’s a pain.
I don’t really understand what you mean. I do showfiles with specific layouts in Director all the time, then recall them on a Surface later. But as I said, I don’t understand what it is you are trying to do exactly.
If you are talking about when being connected to a system and pushing the settings, then you need to connect to Surface + Mixrack (might just be called Surface now…its been a while) and not Mixrack. Then recall the showfile.
