Alternant tie line config

Having the ability to do the same thing as the ABCD preamp selection but for tielines would be super helpful. A recent event I was on we had a backup RF channel setup. I was in monitors and was able to fail over to backup but FOH had to fail over on their own and I could not relay that quick enough. Being able to change the tie configuration from monitor world with a single button press would be amazing. I don’t want to have to do this with scenes as that is far too risky in my opinion.

Can you do this with a patchbay/IO library? I haven’t tried it yet with our supermadi card, otherwise you could patch your FOH to channel DO’s rather than directly from ports, then when you fire your ABCD change, theirs should follow.

+1

It would be extremely helpful to have the option for tie lines to follow ABCD preamp selection or at least to be able to store tie lines to the library.
I run into the issue quite often when using digital MON/FOH splits and there are I/O config changes (e.g. tour shows use DX stage boxes, flying shows use local mixrack I/O and locally sourced multicores) and I always have to write down the tie line patching in an excel document and then manually reconfigure it on the console, wich leads to mistakes almost every time like accidentally shifting one row. Also when switching to a backup mic (which is one of the main uses of ABCD) it’d be great, if the FOH/MON split would follow along.
Being able to at least store tie line patching to a library would already be a HUGE improvement though!

I did a quick test in Director. No console around at the moment.

The I/O library saves the tie lines too. At least it did in my test.
But a dedicated button for the tie line recall would be a good idea.

Good to know, I’ll give it one more try tomorrow.
When I last tried (this was on the 2.01 firmware) it didn’t recall the tie lines, might have been an user error though.
I still noticed the absence of a tie line recall button in 2.03 though, so +1 on the implementation of a dedicated button.
And ABCD follow option.

That could be tricky. The ABCD preamp is part of the channel strip, the tie lines are not.
