Hi, I’m loving my cq20b, the one thing I would love is to have the config allow a third mode, a mix of analog and USB, this would be to have an analog in that would pass to the USB and and USB return, so I can pass inputs to the USB for processing then return them to the same channel for mixing, at the minute I have to send using one channel and return using another, this quickly uses up all the inputs.
A use case is to allow “outboard” pc or Mac emulators for mic and guitar processing. This would massively increase the capabilities of the mixer, I have a headless M1 Mac Mini which is capable of processing vocals and guitar emulators inline with inputs. you would only need a gain for send to USB and allow all the usual channel control on return.
You need SQ for that, even the Qu range does not provide inset points.
so your saying the product can’t have innovation because higher priced products don’t have it, seems a recipe downward to the gutter, products need innovation to compete with others suppliers, not to fit in a price range.
No I did not say that, you implied that from what I said. The CQ is designed with the simplest routing features aimed at a transition from analogue market.
Hence no external stage box capability and various other things which are standard on every other A&H digital mixer.
Conversely, it has auto gain and feedback reduction, both features not on any other A&H digital mixer, but extremely useful for the less experience user. So there is innovation in the CQ range.
This was already asked and relied here:
My workaround is to use extra channel as you mention and small vst host software on PC (kushview Element).
For reverb and delay you can use up to 4 stereo FX return with the CQ20T (USB, BT, ST1 and ST2).
I don’t use it for other type of FX as it introduce noticeable latency. But for delay and reverb that’s OK (full wet).
have a look at this, its way better, I’ve a keyboard and guitar instance running g on my mac, no noticeable latency
For my type of usage, Element is more than enough… and free.
