Analogue to Digital Routing Question

N00b here. Sorry if this is a dumb question…

I plan to use my CQ-18T for solo live performances.

I use Reaper on a Windows laptop to play backing tracks via CQ-18T digital inputs. Vox mic and a Helix LT guitar processor are connected to analogue inputs on the mixer.

This works great, but I’m wondering if I could connect the guitar directly to an analogue input on the CQ-18T, send it to the DAW for processing via a plugin, then back to CQ-18T to send to FOH?

If possible, how would one go about setting this up?

Thanks!

Let’s say for example your guitar is input 1 on the CQ.
In reaper, create a track for input one and add a new hardware output to output 2 of your CQ.
Set input 2 in the CQ to digital.
Then you have your guitare on input 2 of the CQ via reaper.
But you’ll have to deal with latency and it might be unusable, depending on you PC.

Thanks Frenchie. Appreciate your help.

Why not use a 32 gb SD card loaded with a carefully post produced stereo mix of each of your BU tracks? I assume your 18T has the same SD card slot that I deploy with my CQ20b. Follow Keith’s excellent instructions and after formating the tiny SD card record each selection from reaper through the ST#1 input: then you can assign one of the three soft buttons for start/stop instant access, or manually select each selection from the drop down menu. The subject SD card option is not available with any other A&H desk and is, IMO, one of the very best unique features of the CQ line.

Personally I would leave as is, continue digital playback, and Im presuming you are using the CQ as an audio interface with the laptop for that.
Either process the guitar direct thru the helix and into a CQ input, or guitar direct into CQ and prefade route thru an aux out thru the helix and back to additional input channel, that main slider is you overall volume for tuitar with fx mix derived from the helix. less desireable if you raise the main guitar channel slider up for some guitar fx wet/dry balance if that makes sense.
Really depends on required fx in the end.
