Ar2412 expander and qusb

Hello

We recently installed an Ar2412

The link light is flashing orange, on both mixer and Expander but no ready light.

Not sure what to do? Any ideas why this is not connecting?

If the firmware versions between the console and stage box are different, it might take a few minutes for the system to automatically match the firmware (on the stage box). However this process, while not instantaneous, shouldn’t take more that perhaps 10 minutes.

If the box is still not connecting after that period of time, then there is something else going on.

thanks - problem solved it was the firmware that needed updated on the qu sb

i do have another question - why do i not see the extra mix outputs? i can only see the 1-10 available on the local qu sb and not the 12 outputs available on the expander?

all additional input channels are visible

I’m not familiar with the QU and I know the user interface GUI works a little differently than some of the other A&H consoles I am use to. But generally local I/O and I/O that comes from other sources (ie the SLink port like this situation or somewhere else) are not on the same routing page at the same time. There is usually a different tab/page that needs to be selected to see I/O from the different sources (local vs SLink, etc).

Which QU model are you using? If we know the exact model, we can help pin point where to look because the GUI is different between the older series and the newer series models.

In the IO set up menu there is a tab for D snake input patching and a tab for D snake output patching.

There is no patching/routingm on the SB mixer unit other than the Alt Out.

The outputs on the Qu-SB always stay where they are. You can use your AR to get the 4 extra stereo mix-outs after switching the “groups” to mixes and/or duplicate mix-outs on the SB until you’ve used up your 12 sockets. Theoretically you could have 1 + 12 instances of mix 1 for instance.

Good luck !

Hi giga thanks for this message. So I’ve managed to set it up however as duplicates of mix 1-10. I wonder, is there somehow I can separate the outputs from the AR2412 from mix 1-10.

I would like to control the mix differently.

My mixes are as follows

Mix 1 - Room 1

Mix 2 - Room 1

Mix 3 - Room 2

Mix 4 - Room 3

Mix 5-6 - Monitor Speaker

Mix 7 -8 - Recorder

Mix 9 - 10 - Blackmagic Atem (live stream)

Now we have the Ar2412

The new Mix is for Room 4.

I would like to EQ the room but at the moment its duplicated with Mix 1

As I said: if you switch one of your groups 1-4 to be a mix and send that to AR output 11 + 12 you have your room 4 mix with separate control

Giga

The outputs on the SB unit are fixed as they are labeled, as Giga said consider switching a group to a mix and assign that output to an unused output on the AR2412.

You can use the Matrix out on the QU SB and in the matrix send the group/mix out to the Matrix.

Since you have the AR2412 it would be easier to use that.
