Trying to understand 2 of the 3 tabs under Utilities, USB Audio. USB is clear. No problem. But I’m trying to understand the difference between the Tracks and the Recordings tabs.
The manual says: “3. Audio Directories – Playback files stored on the internal storage will be visible in the Tracks tab. Tracks recorded to the local internal storage are shown under the Recordings tab.” And further says: “When in the Tracks tab, touch Copy to Internal to copy the selected file to the internal storage.”
So 3 things: 1- What is the difference between “internal storage” and “local internal storage”? 2- Can anyone else find the “Copy to Internal” button in the Tracks tab? 3-How does a file end up in the Tracks tab?
Thanks in advance!
I would say that it is a simple typo and logically it should read:
When in the USB tab, touch Copy to Internal to copy the selected file to the internal storage.
Thanks for the response. Likely correct. I’ve found other errors in the manual in the past. So your answer addresses my second question. Any thoughts about questions 1 and 3?
Thanks!
Oh, I thought the answer had cleared everything up.
1 - I’d say there’s no difference.
3 - I can’t check right now, but I would have thought that if you using in the USB tab “Copy to Internal”, the tracks from the USB stick would be copied to the Tracks directory - or are they not?
Again, thanks for the response. I’ll check that next time I’m at the mixer. I don’t think I tried that yet.
I’ve got ll this sorted out now. Copy to Internal, located on the USB tab, copies audio files to the Tracks tab. That’s the only way to populate the Tracks tab. So now I know that Tracks is a place to put specific tracks for playback. Looks like if I want one of the recordings made on the mixer listed on the Recordings tab to move there, I need to copy the recording to USB and then Copy to Internal. Whew! The lesson here is to use a more versatile playback device than the mixer has to offer.
Not part of my original questions but a natural follow-up to this new information, the only way to put those tracks in a specific order is to copy them to the Tracks tab in the desired playback order. Some online searching seems to show that you can put those tracks in a specific order with naming conventions, but that doesn’t work.
Cheers!
