We recently updated to firmware 2.0 for avantis and encountered a weird issue. During our church service, the console suddenly “restarted”, but the audio input/output kept working (I was playing drums and hadn’t noticed any issue). From what I heard from our sound engineer is that the screens suddenly went black and after the “restart” came back on.
Anyone else encountered this or other weird issues after updating to V2.0?
Hey, yes this did happen to me actually as well during a church service. Here’s my theory that I’ve come up with so far:
Since audio continued passing normally, it seems more like the Avantis control surface/touch screen or UI rebooted rather than the entire console. I’d check your console’s event logs to see if anything was recorded around that time. It might also be worth reporting it to Allen & Heath support, especially since it happened shortly after updating to V2.0. Hopefully it’s just a firmware bug and not something hardware-related.
For me, when I checked post-service there was a warning on the utility page under the system status that I saw, and when I manually restarted my whole console that cleared it. Hope this helps!
