Avantis/GX4816 dropout

Hi.
I’m running into a random/unpredictable issue with an Avantis/GX4816 system that was recently installed in a school theatre/auditorium.
The GX4816 is randomly disconnecting from the Avantis without warning. It was happening quite regularly shortly after the install last November. The install company advised re-pushing the firmware.
Things were going fine until this afternoon where this happened again.
Link is through a managed gigabit switch, all cabling is shielded Cat6a. Cable run is under 150’.

Anybody from A&H care to chime in and advise? Coming into busy season here and this issue is a show-stopper.

Sending GigaACE over switches icould be a problem here.
I would suggest checking the switch configuration in your case.

This is a user forum, the A&H girls and boys read the topics, but it would be better to contact them directly under https://www.allen-heath.com/support/ or https://support.allen-heath.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new.

Also worth reading the article below as connections over a managed switch are notoriously problematic and not officially supported:

Audio Networking. gigaACE and DX networking, VLANs, and fibre optics – Allen & Heath

The first troubleshooting step would be to connect the GX4816 directly to the Avantis and see how that performs.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the input. I see there’s a new firmware update out today.
I’m going to push that and see if that makes things more stable. If the issue pops up again I’ll try a direct link, I’m going to have to build and run cable for that.
It’s a weird issue.
