Does anyone have a suggestion for a budget (ie sub £50) tablet or phone to run CQ4You. We are a 6-piece band and I would like to supply tablets that are dedicated and configured to the monitor mix function, rather than everyone use their phones which inevitably are not configured correctly, are prone to auto-update etc. Seems that Iphone SE or Iphone 6S or Ipad Mini 4th generation would seem suitable but still go for quite a lot.
Define “budget”. I bought a gen 8 refurbished iPad with 128GB storage for right around $150 on ebay. IMO an iPhone screen is a bit too small to use comfortably. I’d go with an iPad or an Android tablet. Preferably an iPad because even though A&H makes the app for both Apple and Android, most audio apps tend to be iPad/Apple only.
If this is a “single use” need for the tablet, then honestly any new-ish cheap tablet (Android is generally cheaper) will work. I say new-ish just to make sure the device has enough horsepower to drive the software. It doesn’t take much, but a 10 year old device might still be a little sluggish.
If you are going to use the tablet for other things, then make your decision based on those other needs/things. Running CQ4you isn’t going to make a difference one way or another.
