Buzzy sound on channel when quitting app that produces sound on iPad

So that is very frustrating and strange bug that I encounter. I have an iPad connected to the CQ20B. On that iPad I have several musical apps such as Loopy Pro, Sunday Keys etc. On CQ I have few channels that are receiving sound from USB connection (from iPad).

The problem is that if an app produces sound and I quit that app, very loud buzzy noise starts to come out of CQ’s channels that were receiving sound from an iPad. If I reopen that app buzzy sound goes away. That noise comes from the CQ (not the iPad). If I disconnect the iPad it doesn’t go away.

iPad connected with simple USB cable. I’ve tried different cables. Also I’ve tried to reproduce that issue with Scarlett audio interference with no luck. Also I’ve tried few different apps and all have that behavior. Will try to record video showing the problem.

Here is a video showing the problem.

Also I have the same issue with iPhone and Loopy Pro. And with macbook air m2 running Sequoia and Ableton: if I disconnect usb I get that static noise. Tried different adapters: original and not - it doesn’t matter. Reinstalled CQ’s firmware with USB stick. Could someone try to reproduce the issue?

Some thoughts

Haven’t had time to test this yet but it was on my agenda before a few family health issues curtailed my music activities.

Could this be a sample rate mistmatch between iPad apps and CQ?

Clearly something is left hanging at App disconnect at iOS end.

IOS and FAT32 compatibility could be an area of research?

Cheers
David

Sample rate is the same between devices. By the way I’ve tried switching 48k and 96k on CQ and on devices ofc. When using 96k that buzzy noise is higher in pitch.
