I accidentally updated my MixPad version on my iPad and now it is ahead of my mixer firmware and won’t work with my desk.
I have a gig tomorrow and it would be very good to have MixPad BUT I’m nervous about updating the mixer firmware on the day of a big gig in case something goes wrong?
(Does it ever go wrong?)
Or can I load an old version of MixPad for firmware 1.5 to my iPad?
As far as I know you can’t go ‘backwards’ with the version number.
If you haven’t seen the issues that have been reported with the 1.6.x version of desk firmware, please read them. You should come to the conclusion NOT to update your desk firmware just before a gig.
If you have a Notebook/Tablet running Windows, or a Macbook, you can download SQ MixPad back to 1.5 and 1.4.
I agree with Dave: do the update, but not directly before a gig.
Don’t forget, if you upgrade, you will lose monitor take-off points.
I got boned by the upgrade. It hurts. The iPads auto-upgraded and forced desk upgrade.
You can always go out and buy a pile of laptops to keep using 1.5 —- lame
Do a google search for MixPad 1.5 (legacy?) version for iOS?
You might get lucky.
You’d need to completely uninstall the version you have first before reinstalling of course.
That and making sure you disable auto-updates
Edit to add, I know you can get the v1.5 for MacOS from the A&H support site if that would get you out of trouble for the gig?
Scroll down to SQ MixPad, and select “Select Previous Version” in the dropdown
