Channel Level Multitrack recording

I’m not sure if the following assumption is correct.
USB Multitrack recording ch1-16 uses the send send signals as source (raw post preamp, no processing, eq, aso).
When I set the gain of the channel to 0db in the usb multitrack playback, should the reproduced signal have the same level as the recorded signal?

So - recording post pre-amp, then playing back from the USB. The levels should be identical - though trim/polarity are also relevant I think.
