I would love an option to show a clock on the upper part of the screen.
The SQ has no real time clock inside.

See above. There is NO clock internal to the SQ. So no clock readout available, the end.
There is, I believe, a clock available on the SQ iPad app. There is a clock in the iPad.

I just use my phone (and hope nobody calls me during the set).
With mixpad connected, sq has the clock.

Maybe THAT would be a good idea then. 
The missing timestamps (on scenes, audio files, …) are a real nuisance.
And a clock chip (even battery buffered) is really cheap.
