i know that this topic exists a lot, but i can’t find the correct answer for me:
i want to connect an SQ5 (MON) and a SQ6 (FOH). If it’s possible i want to connect without stagebox because the band only has 13 inputs.
I’m able to rout the input from MON to FOH, this works. But how do i rout back the signal. I don’t know how i have to do the patch in the console and i can’t find help.
At FOH:
Go to “IO Patch”, then on the left side select “Outputs->Mix Out”. On Top select either SLink or IO-Port, as you have connected. Then send the Outputs back through the same link as you get the inputs.
At Monitors:
On the left side choose “Tie Lines->Slink (or IO Port, as you have connected)”. On Top choose “Local”. Then Tie Line together the signal you send from FOH to one of the local ports.
The same way - tie lines. Just route the talkback from the FoH console to an SLink channel using tie lines (For example, 128) and then on your Monitor Console, select SLink 128 as your input. You can choose whichever channel number you need.
Hi there,
Not quite - do the patching for the Talkback from the talkback menu - unpatch it from IO.
Setup → Audio → Talkback and set the source there. You’ll need to do this on the mixer, talkback settings can’t be adjusted on Mixpad.
OK, but with my setting, i can go to work with two Talkbacks. The one from FOH Set to Input 40 on my Monitor Console sending it to the MIX-Buses (inEar), and using my own Talkback via Talkback-Input on Monitor Console. In Addition I think it would a good idea to route the incoming talkback from FOH (SLINK 128) as Ext in to PAFL Source. So I’m able to hear the talkback from FOH in my PAFL Channel. What do you think?
If you don’t already have both consoles, you might consider using a stagebox and running monitors from an Ipad. You’ll save a ton of money and have the flexibility to tune on stage.
