Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing intermittent connection drops between my iPad and my Allen & Heath CQ-12T. I’ve already taken several steps to stabilize the connection, but the app (CQ MixPad) still loses connection occasionally.
My Setup:
-
Mixer: CQ-12T
-
Control: iPad (latest iOS and CQ MixPad app version)
-
Connection: External Router (Dual-band)
-
Workflow: I MUST use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi simultaneously (streaming audio via BT while controlling the mix via Wi-Fi).
What I have done so far:
-
5GHz Band: I am using 5GHz Wi-Fi to avoid interference with Bluetooth (which runs on 2.4GHz).
-
Static IP: I’ve assigned a Static IP address to the mixer to avoid DHCP lease issues.
-
Router Channels: I’ve set a fixed channel (non-DFS) on the router to speed up reconnection and avoid interference.
-
iPad Settings: “Private Wi-Fi Address” and “Limit IP Address Tracking” are turned off. Local Network permissions are enabled.
-
Environment: The router is placed in an elevated position with a clear line of sight.
The Problem:
Even with these settings, the connection to the app still drops randomly. The Bluetooth audio usually keeps playing, but the MixPad app loses sync and I have to wait for it to reconnect.
Since I cannot disable Bluetooth, are there any other “hidden” settings in the CQ-12T or specific router tweaks (like MTU size, Beacon Interval, or specific iPad background settings) that could help make this 100% stable?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
