Controlsurface for QU and SQ

Hi, Allen & Heath.

The new SQ rack is a very exiting product. I am a drummer, playing in a small band, and use my QU pac next to my drumset for easy control on stage. Other times I use my QU mixer as a sound engineer, mixing from front of house.

iPad control works fine as long as there a not to much radiointerference, and not to many people in the crowd (with cellularphones).

So,

How about making a separate controlsurface with fader for both QU pac and SQ rack, that can be connected wired via the Ethernetconnection, and also with connection for external wireless router?

This can also he used as an add on faderboard for SQ and QU mixers that allready have faders for even more simultanious control over channels and mixbuses.

+1 I agree it would be so useful and a real game changer if Allen & Heath could come out with a fader bank for the rack mixers. There are so many times where a physical fader is what’s required and the iPad doesn’t quite cut it.

I posted about potentially the IP-8 being an option. Hopefully with a software update Allen & Heath could offer to allow them to work with the SQ range as it already is already available with Avantis, DLive & AHM.

it would absolutely broaden the use of these rackmixers for several applications, since faders are sometimes required and other times just using the rackunit alone is enough. My suggestion is a surface with knops and 16 or 17 faders, that ca be installed into a flat rackcase or just be place om a table from the soundengineers posiston among the audience. Ethernet, display and knota to have full control, and also a wifi-router connection on the surfaceunit, and with a stand to place your iPad on top of the unit, so you can walk around on stage im addion. Working as at «lightversion» of the d-live series for use on all qu mixers, two way communication with lighted channelstrips, name on instrument etc. Would be geniuos?

TBH, that is exactly the reason the full versions exist.
Or you can use Mixing Station instead.
