CQ 12T network

Hi,
Has anyone connected a CQ12T to a router yet? I didn’t go for the 18T as I didn’t really need to extra channels or the network feature, but it would be good to know how to set that up via the network port. Is it just a case of getting one of those portable routers, then that creates the local network to then connect an iPad running the MixPad app?
I don’t really understand this stuff, so I’m sorry if that’s a daft question. Just trying to understand. Cheers

Hi @GazP23

Not a daft question, and you’re absolutely correct  you just need to connect the CQ to a network in the same way as you would connect a computer. Then connect the device running CQ-MixPad to that same network (be it wireless or hardwired). Then the app will be able to find and connect to the CQ for control.
The step-by-step is on page 18 of the user guide here - https://www.allen-heath.com/media/CQ_User_Guide_V1_1_0_iss1.pdf#page=18&zoom=auto,-361,555

Cheers!
Keith.

Thanks Keith! Ok, I’ll get a portable router and give that a go.

Mine works perfect with a router and also works perfect when networking to my PC with Windows 10.

Yep works just super fine on my CQ12T, immediate detection of the network, hot plug/unplugging, no issue at all.

Another successful router connection to report here. Finally got a use for it after all.

I used an old Sky router, set it to receive dns/dhcp from the unit, It connected and immediately updated my firmware, all via an ipad. Quite impressive.

Hi everyone, can anyone describe which WLAN router did you use? a big home style WLAN Router with a Network cable (think it’s not so easy for a stage setup)?
Or is it possible to use a USB WLAN router like(https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/d-link-dwa-121-wlan-adapter-usb-usb-usb-a-netzwerkadapter-5939992)?
Or is there any small WLAN router which can be connected via network slot, which i am not able to find:)

Many thanks for any advice.
Cheers

The device under your link isn’t a router. It’s just a Wi-Fi card in a USB form factor.

Every router would do the trick. The word router implies that it has all the needed functions.
You can use access points too, but these need additional configuration.

The CQ-18 and CQ-20 come with integrated Wi-Fi, btw.
