Hi. I’ve used the CQ-81T to record some of our live gigs. I have not yet loaded the tracks to a DAW to mix them down, but have been using the CQ for playback to get a sense of the performance and recording. I’ve found the time bar bar at the bottom of the Recording screen to be very difficult to navigate to skip around the recording. The manual states “Use the circular playback position marker at the very bottom of the screen to jump to a specific point in the track.“ but it’s very hard to use with precision via your finger or even a stylus. Does anyone know if this can be assigned to a soft rotary knob so as to be able to more easily and precisely scroll through your recording? Thanks!
As with other controls (faders, rotaries), if you touch the control and first slide your finger away from the center of the control, adjustments will be finer as you move your finger in the direction of adjustment. So for a fader which uses vertical movement to adjust, first touch and move your finger away from the control horizontally, then use vertical movement to adjust the fader value. For rotaries, touch and move your finger away from the ‘knob’ vertically, then adjust moving horizontally. The closer your finger is to the control, the more gross the movement, and the farther, the finer. I hope this helps. For the scrubbing adjustment, touch and move up, then across to make your adjustment.

Hi. Thanks for the reply and the tips on how to more finely adjust the scrubbing bar on recording playback. That said, it’s still a bit clunky and when you use your finger to do that on the touch screen, the time lapsed and remaining don’t change until after you’ve pulled your finger off. IMO, it would be a LOT easier if one of the physical rotary knobs could be assigned to do this feature. Thanks.

It’s a great suggestion, easy to implement, and it just makes sense.
The firmware/software for this mixer was sadly clearly an afterthought. It’s not too late to bring it up to parity with the competition though.
