CQ 18t: The power button vs unplugging the unit

Hello

Recently finished my custom case for cq-18t, but there is one problem - the access to power switch in the back.

I want to know if the power button’s only function is just to cut off the power ( the same effect as if the power cord was removed ) or if there is some additional safety process happening when I use the switch - therefore it’s not interchangeable.

Basically instead of drilling a new opening for accesing the switch, I would just wait for it to “be safe to shut down” and then unplugged the power cord.

Love the mixer btw.

I don’t recommend doing that.

No big issue for switching it OFF, but when you turn ON the PSU with the CQ set to ON, it generates a heavy inrush current because the PSU needs to power its internal components and the CQ simultaneously.
