Hi Guys,
I´m a singer and guitarist performing live on a Duo.
I´m the one that controls the CQ MixPad and while I’m performing normally I have to make small adjustments to the mix.
I really love the app but there´s one thing that limits my performance, it´s the fact that if I want to raise or low the volume of the channels, I have to put my finger on the screen and drag it up or down. Since I´m playing Guitar at the same time this is very difficult to accomplish.
It would be a huge improvement in my opinion if there was the possibility to just tap above or below the fader button to raise or low by 1dB each tap.
Hope this would be great for many people using this mixer and also hope if you consider this to be an update.
Thank you all
Regards
Hello.
If you are using CQ mixpad I assume you have a tablet, should it be IPAD or Android.
If you like DIY and arduino, I might have a look and create your own device to control the CQ (coding only).
I have already created multiple project up to now.
One midi pedalboard that can be easily customisable form one to 6 buttons:
-ESP32-modular-FS - Google Drive
And another midi pedalboard that is more 'high-end" with 4 buttons:

You needs require either a simple footswitch that send + 1DB fader increment or a midi volume pedal.
Can you also consider a pedal that would control the volume of your channel or you definitely prefer a inc/dec push button ?
If you want I can have a look at it.
Thanks for your reply and your kind offer,
at the moment I just really need that solution of tapping above or below to cursor in order to change the volume. Hope they can have that in a future upgrade.
Thank you
If frenchie’s kind offer doesn’t appeal to you, you would have to submit your urgent request under Feature Suggestions and hope that it receives many votes and might even be implemented in a few years.
Edit: Perhaps the following addition is worth mentioning that you could of course also use the Mixing Station app and create there a complete user-defined layout with special (also bigger) buttons and program them for corresponding x-dB-In/Decrement actions.
Bitfocus companion has different modules for all the A&H mixers on the connections page. Streamdeck has a variety of button devices and would easily do what you require.
Have you try downloading CQ4You? Maybe a solution.
CQ4You cannot (directly) control the Main LR and unfortunately lacks the desired buttons on the faders, while Stream Deck, conversely, has no faders on its buttons.
The affordable Mixing Station is the only thing I know that makes both possible.
Hi SQuser thanks for your suggestion.
I use to mix with an RCF M18 (discontinued) and in
the app you could do what i miss in the CQMixpad.
Only a single TAP above the fader and you could raise by 1 dB
Not sure if mixing station has this feature
Oh - I had of course hoped it would be clear that if I recommend it, it also exists. )
However, but this also the great advantage, you are allowed/have to create your own very specific and customized layout yourself.
Since he was asking for a + and - tap ability, buttons would work. But actually, the Streamdeck Plus and XL controllers have rotary knobs and touch sliders.
At least here I understood him to mean additional controls to or within faders.
I’m afraid he also still wants to be able to mix normally - and perhaps not necessarily with six rotary knobs.
But of course, I don’t know it for sure.

Perhaps I misunderstood you a bit, because now I think you mean + and - areas within a fader, but unfortunately, in MS only buttons above and below a fader are possible.
Hi SQuser yes, what I meant was to simply tap above or below the fader.
I think this would be great and it seems to be a simple change to do in the software.
I hope more people could benefit from this and the A&H developers could make this happen.
Thanks
