CQ12 - no analogue output at all

I’ve got a a CQ12 which has given stellar service over the last year or so. At the last show, there was no analogue output from anywhere. (Either main XLRs, aux jacks, etc.)

Meters are showing healthy levels so I suspect it’s a hardware fault. We will probably need to send it for service but I thought I’d check here in case it’s a known issue with an easy solution?

Back in the days of analogue consoles I’d have been opening it up looking for loose ribbon cables but I’d imagine it’s all one board with surface-mounted components.

Hi.

Probably hardware, as you say, but first check mute groups and DCAs.

Assuming all is well, I’d open the thing up and just re-seat the ribbon cable to the output board before you have the hassle of sending it off somewhere.

I’ve been bitten by DCAs on more than one occasion.

According to the block diagram, the output meters are clearly permanently assigned to the outputs after the output faders.
Therefore, if the meters are showing levels, these signals should also be present at the outputs and could not be affected by the preceding DCAs or mutes.

What meter ? Output meter ? What about the headphone out ?

We’ve done a full factory reset so I’m pretty certain that it’s not a mis-engaged mute group or DCA.

Level was showing on the output meters. We hadn’t the chance to check with headphones on the job.

The desk is now away for repair, thanks for the pointers everyone.

Would be interesting if they give you detail about the fix, whether it is the audio top board or the bottom one or a issue in the CPU board.
