Finally got my hands on a new CQ12t and have completed a basic set up.
I have the USB output going to a PC for OBS / Zoom Streaming but the volume coming from the USB Output is extremely quiet and we are having issues with people being able to listen to the live stream.
Is there a way to change the USB output volume without effecting the LINE R/L output as this is already set up and is suited to the environment.
This “pseudo-problem” with A&H mixers is mentioned here from time to time, but the search function …
Hoping you have one or better yet, two Out mixes (for stereo) available, it would be best to create a separate Out mix for your stream, which then follows or also deviates from your already carefully adjusted Main LR.
You can then significantly increase (up to 20 dB) the level of this mix.
If you don’t know how to do it and can’t find it here, please let us know.
I created a Separate stereo mix and the output is maxed out, but when using the CQ12t as a microphone source in OBS (which then we send to Zoom) the volume is still low for users, would I be able to add something like a Behringer Xenyx 302USB between the CQ12t and the PC to add more gain?
There is a section at the end of the article with options for ‘trading’ headroom for level, but in short, the best solution for you here would probably be to use the compressor makeup gain on your separate mix to boost the level.
You can also make use of the limiter to help avoid clipping, but because you will have boosted the level, you’ll want to set the threshold for this fairly high.
