I am a new CQ18 user and have a couple issues/observations that may impact usage of this system.
I am using the CQ18 left main output connected to an EVOLVE30M input channel. (The EV has a 6 channel integrated mixer controllable with an EV app.) The CQ mixer has 4 microphones, 5 instruments and 2 monitors used for the practice and performances.
When setting the volume for the EV via the EV app on an iPhone (using channel one) the CQ monitor channel one was changing volume. To avoid this I altered the EV channel being used to avoid the monitor channel conflict. Note: There is no CQ app on the iPhone.
A bigger problem appears to be associated with the CQ mixer randomly altering volume and/or tone settings on individual channels. Example: A user’s microphone will suddenly lower or raise volume with the latter causing feedback. I didn’t see if the gain was altered since I just reloaded the scene. I then turned off auto gain just in case this was affecting the channel.
Last night I used the CQ/EV at a performance and was impacted by random volume changes and altered tones. Reloading fixed the issues but that is not a realistic solution.
Has this been experienced by other users? The CQ has the latest firmware 1.2.1 r4213. Is setting the lock a temporary solution? Thanks in advance.
