CQ18-T select multitrack number via midi

Hi, I’m looking for a MIDI message that can be sent to a CQ18T mixer to switch to a specific multitrack number.

I’ve recorded a couple of songs to the mixer and now want to play those recordings as backingtracks. with direct access to the mixer I’m able to select the right track and everything works fine. but now I want to control the mixer remotely. changing scences works fine, but I do not find anything about switching to specific multitrack numbers.

any ideas?

many thanks
Michael

There is no MIDI message for browsing files

thanks for the file which I’ve read several times! it does not contain the required information. I did not ask for browsing files, I want to select a multitrack number and play that recording.

procedure should be like this:

select song which i want to play next on my tablet;
the app is sending a SELECT TRACK message to the mixer;
then I press the footswitch to play that song.

Hi Michael,

Unfortunately, if it’s not in the document, it isn’t possible.
The closest you’ll get is if you set up softkeys to do Play/Pause/Stop and Next, Previous, and trigger the softkeys with MIDI.

Hi Mark, thanks for the answer even though it’s bad news. So I have to switch back to my backingtrack player and have to connect 6 cables from the stage to the mixer.

I still can’t believe that you can record hundreds of multitracks, but without the ability to select them remotely.
