Very strange thing here. I have Aux 1 and 2 linked stereo
I have Headphone A and B sources mapped to my Aux 1/Aux 2 stereo link
When I plug a stereo cable into my headphone amp I’m only hearing things in left ear. If I pan, for example, piano hard right it disappears…sometimes can FAINTLY hear it from Heasphone Out A. Nothing from B
If I plug a pair of headphones directly into headphone jack A (taking headphone amp out of the equation) I still have same result
It USED to work fine. Any idea what I’m missing here? I’ve factory reset same results
If I plug a mono a/b to stereo directly into Aux 1 and Aux 2 works fine
Really like headphone jacks though for reasons not worth getting into
The problem occurs for me particularly during the playback of multitrack recordings. Although a played-back channel is panned to the center, I only hear the signal on the left side. Interestingly, the right channel is not completely dead. When I pan to the right, I hear (only) the right channel of the stereo effect, but not the source signal, which should also be audible. So, the right channel is not defective. That’s why I assume it’s a software bug. This is further supported by the fact that it usually works again after turning the system off and on.
Edit: I did some further testing: when the right side drops out and I pan all the way to the left, I can still hear the source signal very faintly in the background. Contrary to what I said earlier, it’s not the right channel of the stereo effect. It is the source signal, but extremely weak.
Something strange just happened: while I was listening to one channel of a multitrack recording through headphones, the right side of the headphones suddenly cut out but then gradually came back. The right side was completely gone for about 5 seconds, and then over the next 5 seconds it slowly returned to its original volume. After that, both sides were fully working again.
In the end, it turned out to be a hardware defect after all. I had the mixer repaired under warranty free of charge, and it was done within two days. (Thanks for that.) The mainboard had to be replaced.
